we’re proud to announce the first bugfix release for the 2.0 series of darktable, 2.0.1!

the github release is here: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/releases/tag/release-2.0.1

as always, please don’t use the autogenerated tarball provided by github, but only our tar.xz. the checksums are:

  • use sRGB when output/softproof profile is missing
  • fix loading of .hdr files
  • default to libsecret instead of gnome keyring which is no longer supported
  • fix a bug in mask border self intersections
  • don’t allow empty strings as mask shape names

  • fix an OpenCL crash
  • eliminate deprecated OpenCL compiler options
  • update appdata file to version 0.6
  • allow finding Saxon on Fedora 23

  • add defs for Canon CHDK DNG cameras to make noise profiles work

Noise profiles:

  • fix typo in D5200 profiles to make them work again

    Started with testing the special Windows version from Partha. Works nicely so far but sometimes it crashes. Still very happy with it.

  6. Hi gentlemen, thank you all for excellent work. I upgraded from Fedora 21 to 23 only to be able to build DT 2.0.0 recently, and you gave us even newer version so quickly!

    I think that it would be very useful to have the newest darktable in official fedora update repository. For some strange (and unknown to me) reason they still stay on v1.6.9. Is there any way how to help to propagate the newer version into repos? Eg. post somewhere a user report with my system info, or something alike?
  7. errrmmm., has the line defining the UI languange in the /usr/share/darktable darktablerc file been removed? I always change the default german language to english. after this new installation i cant find the line in the rc file!!! HELP!!!

  10. It's still there, look for "ui_last/gui_language". However, I would suggest to set it in ~/.config/darktable/darktablerc. The file you mention is just used as the initial copy when no settings are found. And it gets overwritten when you update darktable.

  16. Thank you guys for doing such a great job! It is highly appreciated. I look forward to each new release. I love using darktable; it is my prime photo development app (on Mac OS X & Ubuntu). I recommend it to anyone I now that is in photography. :-) Once again, great job!

    I would have a suggestion about gradient masks; is it possible to implement an improvement which allows us to choose between several shapes like conical or radial, etc.. (like Gimp)?

  20. Hey great work I finally got it also running with opencl support
    (gtx 460 767MB ubuntu 15.10-64bit)

    just in case someone struggles

    I installed the latest nvidia driver via additional hardware drivers

    afterwards i installed the nvidia cuda toolkit
    via sudo apt-get install nvidia-cuda-dev nvidia-cuda-toolkit
    then i put the opncl.so, opencl.so.1 and the third opencl file that was required
    in the lib64 folder (they were easy to find via "locate opencl")

    and finally i ran nano .config/darktable/darktablerc
    to change the opencl_memory_requirement to 765

    and now everything is working fine and fast :)

  22. Great work. Thanks. DT is now my favorite, taking the place of RT which I had used it for years. I was ready to download and compile it, but thought I better chech the debian packages, and there it is, no need for me to do any compiling work. I love it.

  26. I've been using this application from the beginning and I love it. I used it in my old linux laptop, and nowadays I'm using it in my macbook pro.

    When I use it in the auxiliary monitor, there is no problem an works like a charm :). Howeber, when I unplug the auxiliary monitor and try to use with the standard screen, I've seen that the application doesn't fit to the screen resolution.

    I tried almost all the solutions that I found on this web, unfortunately any has worked for my... Perhaps, the problem is the minimum screen size fixed in the application, I don't know.

    If any of you have a solution, I'll be happy to hear.

  31. After a research, I've found a workaround here: http://redmine.darktable.org/issues/10902

    I changed DT's language (ui_last/gui_language=C). Then full screen, and then normal window.

    :S it's weird, but it works for me... I don't mind not to have the interface in my language :)
  32. After the last upgrade DT is no longer applying the default base curve when first opening a photo (with a Sony slt a58). Let me know what informations can I provide.
