I removed the PPA from Software Sources and then added it back. I refreshed Update Mgr and v2.0.4 installed without a hitch. I have no idea what broke or why.
Thanks a lot in advance.
is it possible to change this? some of the tools are hidden this way

Can there be a security issue?

I use it in Ubuntu 14.04.
I would like to make a request for a feature.
Can you add scaling within the crop guides .
I don't know how many have felt this need , I really find this might be useful.
Edit: It seems that's the Github-generated tarball. As the release notes say: don't use those!
I have a lot to learn and there is so much in the programe to understand and much more comprehensive than LR .
Just wanted to say congratulations on such a good bit of photography software
THX for the nice work :)
I run a Debian (Jessie), where darktable is 1.42, and the backports have 2.0.4. Only problem : It won't install, because of four dependencies --which can be found in the Jessie repositories-- won't be installed.
I got darktable installed by :
- first getting the backports from my list
- installing the 4 dependencies,
- calling again on the backports,
and then Darktable 2.0.4. installed without more protestations
I've been using darktable for the last 3 years, and just love it. Thank you to the whole team.
Cheers!
